Nanjing University and Nagoya University have a long-term friendly partnarship. Both sides signed the first intercollegiate cooperation agreement in 1982. This jointed workshop is initiated by Institute for Climate and Global Change Research(ICGCR) of Nanjing University(NJU) and Dynamics of the Sun-Earth-Life Interactive System(SELIS) with the Global COE program in Nagoya University, with the aim to promote cooperation and collaboration in research and graduate-school level education in geosciences and environment studies. Institute leaders of both institutes discussed the mechanism of the jointed workshop(seminar) at Nanjing University in October 2009, when NJU hold the foundation ceremony for ICGCR. The joint-organized whokshop(seminar) on global change and environmental studies will be held every year alternatively at Nanjing and Nagoya. All scientists and graduate students of both sides are envouraged to participante in the workshop.
